Psychologist at Konekt
January 2011 - June 2015I have previously held a permanent part-time position with Konekt as a Psychologist. Konekt is one of the largest rehabilitation providers in Australia and the company is predominantly focused on assisting injured workers return to work under the WorkCover system. My position involved providing counselling services, performing initial and vocational assessments, and conducting case conferences. I gained experience working with clients who have a range of injuries, for example chronic pain, depression, post traumatic stress syndrome, severe anxiety, and anger issues.

Instrumental Music Tutor at Various Schools and Private
January 1999 - December 2013I have worked as an Instrumental Music Tutor, tutoring predominantly the violin. During this time, I have tutored privately as well as at four primary schools, one secondary school and two music centres. For example, in 2003 I tutored 56 students (age range 6-15) privately and at 3 primary schools. The most recent school I tutored at was Emmanuel Anglican College, Ballina for 5 years.

September 2007 - April 2008I have participated in 8 months volunteer work at the Ex-Services Home, Ballina NSW. This work was a regular, weekly commitment of approximately 4 hours per week, and my experiences were very worthwhile. I was involved in the following: • Providing one-on-one sessions with residents discussing issues of daily living • Assisting with problem solving of emotional and cognitive difficulties • Assisting residents in discussing their life history and its relevance to current everyday living

This work was a weekly commitment (approximately 4 hours per week) and involved: • Being an assistant to neuropsychologist Dr Carey Walmsley for neuropsychological competency assessments of Jacana residents • Active participation in the music therapy program (e.g., performing the violin for residents) • Gaining insight into the broader, multidisciplinary culture (e.g., participating in annual reviews and presentations comprising representatives from different public health sectors)
